Want Help Promoting Your Music?

WANT TO PROMOTE YOUR BAND?
Do you know you need to promote your band but never quite get the time to do it consistently?
Can’t afford to pay marketing company rates of up to $1000 per day?
Want to concentrate on making great music rather than writing press releases, blogging and generally getting your band out there?
A new PR agency specialising in marketing independent bands is currently looking to take on a limited number of artists.
We are looking to take on a selected group of artists who are dedicated to success and determined to spend their time writing, rehearsing and recording great music.

WHY DO I NEED PUBLICITY?
Most people keep waiting for the ‘big deal’ or the ‘big opportunity’ to come through. The truth is, you need to raise your profile and consistently communicate with your fans if you are going to build on your success in a sustainable way.
If you know you should promote yourself but don’t have either the time, the know-how or the desire, then maybe we can help. We are a PR company – nothing more but nothing less. People need to know who you are so when they see your name in a gig listing or see your CD come across their desk they sit up and pay attention. Using the media is the best way to build your profile and the least utilised strategy of musicians.

YOU MUST BE COMMITTED
Only committed bands will qualify for our roster. We don’t want to do our part if you are not prepared to do your share. You must be prepared to commit to this process for a minimum of 6 months as we are not here to offer you a quick-fix or overnight success. We believe the minimum commitment you need to make is to having at least one hour a week of PR by a qualified journalist and/or copywriter. We have priced our services to make them affordable for independent musicians wanting to commit to their band’s success. Our minimum package costs $55 a week payable a month in advance. This will allow us to do a small but strategic PR campaign for you. If there are four of you in the band this amounts to less than $14 each a week – a small price to pay so you can get on with the job of ensuring your music gets the publicity it deserves.

We totally understand and have first hand experience of paying for services and not receiving what we paid for and we know the financial and more importantly, the emotional damage that can do in terms of feeling like precious time has been wasted on promoting your band. We believe it is important to under-promise and over-deliver so what we guarantee to do for you is the following:

€35 A WEEK PACKAGE:

* First and foremost we will bcc you in on all communications so you know what work is being done on your behalf.
* As journalists we know what papers want and how to come up with an angle that can give you your best shot at being featured in the press. We will write a monthly press release about you and/or your music and submit it to 3 major online PR sites and our database of media contacts in your local area (which, depending on your location, will include a minimum of 3 newspapers and 3 radio stations).
* It is important to attract new fans so you are not just relying on friends and family to turn up at your gigs and download your music. We will write a weekly blog that sets you aside from the hundreds of blogs clogging up the internet.
* Playing gigs is no good if the room is empty. We will make sure all your gigs are leveraged by ensuring you are always in the appropriate gig listing pages online and in your local area.
* Remember, it is easier to keep a fan than make a new fan, so if you only ever write to your fans asking them to give you something – buy my CD, come to my gig etc – then they will eventually stop feeling the love. It is important you communicate with your fans in a fun, interesting way that makes them feel special so that they naturally want to have more and more to do with your band. We will write a monthly newsletter to your fans to keep them updated and interested in what you are doing. We encourage you to think of giveaways you can offer in this newsletter such as a free mp3 of a live gig you did or free tickets for the first five people to email etc. etc.

WHO ARE WE AND WHAT IS OUR TRACK RECORD

We are a small, independent PR company headed by director Megan Albany, a professional journalist and copywriter who is also currently the editor of the Victorian Musicians Union’s magazine, The Dues. Megan has worked for major newspapers in Australia and Europe including The Metro newspaper in Ireland. After successfully promoting her own band, Skinful, to reach number 26 in the Irish charts, Megan is now committed to helping other bands use the power of the press. All our journalists and copywriters have a strong interest in the music industry. Many of our staff are musicians in their own right and all of them have a passion for helping independent musicians. Our company has written campaigns for government and corporate clients including Becks Beer, Toyota, KFC and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. We have also produced music for a number of corporate client’s advertising campaigns and had music featured on Neighbours and the ABC TV animation Pop Pups.
