Boston nanny / babysitting
Au pair required fluent English speaker
We are a family with 16 month old boy/girl twins living in Datchet, about 1.5 miles outside of Windsor (easy walking distance). Our house is set back from the road down a driveway and the River Thames runs alongside the main road. Datchet railway station is a 2 minute walk away and trains to central London run every half hour and take 45 minutes to Waterloo.
Windsor is a lovely town, with the castle as its main attraction. Virgina Water Lake and The Royal Landscape aren't far away and easily reachable by bicycle (we are happy to purchase a bicycle for you). There are many other attractions to visit in this area and you won't be bored on your days off! Heathrow airport is a 15 minute car journey away.
We are looking for someone who speaks fluent English, although we don't mind what their nationality is. You need to be fun, bubbly and outgoing, and would prefer an extrovert type! We'd need you to start the day at 9am and you'd have charge of the children all morning whilst mother works from home. The children always stay in the grounds of the house during the mornings so you wouldn't be required to take them to the park or out on your own. During the afternoons you'd accompany mother and twins on outings to park, supermarket, shopping, coffee etc. Sometimes the whole day is spent at the house, depending on mother's workload, so you'd need to be comfortable doing this and being able to entertain the twins all day!
Day normally finishes at 6pm with dinner. Sometimes you'd need to be on hand a bit later if father is finising work late. This is usually several times per week. In addition, 2 or 3 times per month you'd need to be around in the evening until father gets back from London - this is usually the same week every month as it coincides with regular meetings.
Weekends are your free-time. We also won't require any extra babysitting, although we don't want to rule this out completely just it's required at some point in the future. So far, our current au pair hasn't needed to do this at all.
We need someone who respects how we raise our children and just gets on with things. You need to be proactive and use your initiative. You need to be cheerful and happy - oh, and tidy too please! We don't want to have to instruct you all the time, and we need to be confident in our au pair's abilities enough to let them just get on with things. Common sense is obviously a requirement. A sense of humour is absolutely essential!
You will have your own room with air conditioning, tv, dvd player, cd player, radio, and internet enabled laptop. You share the bathroom with the children but they're only in it for baths so it's pretty much your own.
Please, only respond if your English is fluent. We also need at least a 12 month commitment. No au pair couples. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKERS!
Many thanks
