royalty free plays (texts) available (comedy) for small scale theaters

Date:  Saturday 2nd February

To celebrate the end of the Bush administration, Stella Baker, a UK fringe playwright and stage director is offering royalty free to small scale theaters two of her most successful comedies in their special American versions.

CABBAGES
7 roles - 3 male, 4 female
Set in a small town grocery store we see the day when the Bush administration replaces the dollae with the Euro... in the form of cabbages to help US farmers. The average US monthly salary becomes 2,500 cabbages.

In its original version this play has been staged over 1,000 times since 1995 in 17 different countries and is considered one of the most successful comedies of the 1990's.

THE IRANIAN PATIENT
9 roles - 4 male, 5 female
A special American version of a comedy about US health reforms set in a Mississippi hospital post-Katrina. Filled with hilarious scenes about a male and female patient forced to share the same bed in a hospital due to bed shortages and new health insurance policies. Worse still, by sheer coincidence both patients met previously on a date which didn't work out.

"This patient will never die.." (Warsaw Voice).
